Overview
This build should be pretty self explanatory. The purpose is to get into the middle of the enemy team and CC as many of them as possible to allow your team to push forward. Basically your job is to break the enemies line before they break yours.Weaponry
You should be using a shield and scepter no matter what. There is not a single example that i can think of that you would want anything else. The best Scepter for a Skull Knight would be the Lake Scepter for the stamina and intelligence but that does not show up till the Epherium stage so its costly as hell. A Ocean Scepter would do until you can upgrade. It has spirit attached to it but its the best you can get at the Illustrious stage.
Same as the Scepter the Lake Shield is the best option but that can start at Illustrious.
Fell free to trade any of these out for the Earth variation if you feel like you are dying to quick. Earth weapons and shields give pure stamina.
Armor
When it comes to armor there is not a set out there that works as well for a Skull Knight as the Plate Lake Set. Not only does it give you Intelligence and Stamina, the only 2 stats you really need, but it also adds to your max HP AND increases magic damage by a significant amount. Some say Cloth is a better way to go but the extra damage and magic defense is not worth the HP and Armor bonus you get from plate. I've seen the Stone Cloth set work for a skull knight but its not recommended especially since Skull Knights are entirely about instant casts so they can not take advantage of the lower cast time on Cloth.
Combo
Now for the easy part. How to win wars. Before you do anything make sure you have your buff on and everything is off CD (You have quite a few long CDs).Make sure to communicate to your raid when you are about to go in so they can prep accordingly. Just jumping in and expecting others to follow is how you get yourself surrounded and killed. Before you go in mark the healer as your main target. This is the best time to pop a healer and send the enemy running. Make sure the healer is marked so your entire raid knows who to go straight for and yourself marked (usually use a star) so people know who to follow.
The combo goes:
wait about 7-8 second > > > > > > > > as need > > > >>>> use as needed
To explain how it works:
You Thwart before you go in to get the inspired stack because of the massive damage boost it gives to Vicious Implosion but you wait to let it CD a little because you want it for the rest of your combo.
You into the middle of their group hopefully right next to the healer ( travels 15M use the distance gauge to your advantage) > pulling all enemies 10 M away into you > Impales all enemies within 6 M > combos with impaled targets > to slow them as they come out of and negating any panic heals the healers throw out > to silence all the casters who try to react once they leave > to destroy anyone who tries to turn on you using their own damage against them > to reduce damage received and make yourself CC immune to the most common types. You can pop them all at once if you want but its best to be strategic with them you will be taking a lot of heat at this point > to stun, silence and trip the healer so your DPS people can burst them down, you'll want to do the combo with on due to the massive increase in damage for both > the big finisher. No doubt you will have 3k mettle stacks by now. boosts the damage by 60%. You can EASILY take out 1/3 of damage and healing classes HP with this one move. Use it on the healer to make sure they do not get away. is for when you get down to ~10% HP. pop it and a lot of people will still try to focus you down. by now your should be about off cooldown so you can return to safety if you do not get heals you need within the time you are . is a skill that is extremely hard to use right. You will 90% of the time screw over your own side using this when you first get it. If you do not feel comfortable with taking it are also viable alternatives.
Video coming soonish
GHA plate works as an interim, until you can upgrade. Illustrious Lake Plate works great. Hasla shield and GHA monsterous desire scepter work as well, but you can make due with Magnificient Ocean Secpter. You're really not DPS, but more an aoe initiator.
What about GHA gear and Hasla weapons? can you go with the GHA Shield + Scepter till you can get a decent weapon?
