The daughter of a seemingly normal couple from Mississippi, Anna Marie grew up an unruly child. Her rebellious nature lead to her running away from home as a teenager, and the birth of her nickname "Rogue". Upon her first kiss with a young boy, Rogue's latent mutant ability to absorb life energy activated, nearly killing him.
From there, Rogue's life took a dramatic turn. She lived life on the run not only from her childhood, but her own powers, eventually falling in with Mystique and her Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. After battling the Avengers and absorbing the powers and life force from Ms. Marvel, Rogue ended up with the X-Men, who helped her cope with her dangerous abilities and use them against evil.
