Traditional tanks
As in the case of the assassins,every mmorpg has that bulky class that specializes in soaking up dmg and tanking stuff.In case of ArcheAge they are more classes that fit this cloth so ill stick to the ones that are the most efficient.I wanted to start my Traditional tank series with Abolisher bcause it is a popular class and from all the rest in my short list,fairs the best in solo pvp scenarios and is really good in instances too.
I will try a new format for my builds,making a different chapter for all the skillsets.
Battlerage
I know in my previous build i kept reffering to my blighter build for further explanation on the skills,mostly because i am lazy.I will try to explain more in-depth on this one.So lets begin
this is the spammable ability that replaces the auttoattack from the more traditional mmorg's.It synergises very well with.
this is the main gapcloser of this class so try to use it tactical, to avoid being kited by ranged characters,especially those EVIL mobile archers.Try to hold on to the spell until they use their escape and then re-engage with it.
i just love this spell is so awesome for sticking to your target like glue,it has long range,low mana cost.the only downside is the long ass cooldown.So that is why i include in all my battlerage this .
this is an amazing cc removal,since it hits more to mages rather than archers.Classes like daggerspell and demonlogist that relly on snares and slows to kite are really vulnerable on the duration of this spell so try to make the most of this time.it synergises well with making u a anti-cc beast for a short duration
this is a pure dps skill,no utility just straight out damage output.
i always take this skill no matter if i equip shield or a 2h.It offer so much utility and offers u a chance of dmg output as well.I keep saying this but, this is match made in heaven with.
this is a pretty standard skill in all battlerage classes bcause of its raw dmg output and the chance of aoe dmg.
having more dmg never hurts
i think this is the strongest battlerage passive and also one of the most underestimated passive in the game.The huge utility that it can bring in a fight is amazing.If u get a proc all your skills including gapclosers will be available again.Just think on that for a second.Being able to gapclose a second time with or pull some1 in with or remove some cc with.
Defense
So going to the core of the class: the defense tree.So as u can imagine this is going to be a build for 1h+shield(i recomand shortspear do to its attack speed and usually having agility as a main attribute). like almost every tank class in mmorpgs this is a spell that directly buffs your total hitpoints.The buff dramaticly increases after unlocking this passive.i really like to use it in my defense build due to it synergy with and.
im my opinion this is one of the most broken anti mage skill in the game,maybe the best.Ppl tend to underestimate or the dont realize how much it means in a duel vs a mage or a healer a skill that interrupts all spellcasting.Its huge if u manage to output some serious dmg in this few seconds of duration.
this is a good spell to finish an enemy with,or at least chunk a fair portion of their hp bars.underthe dmg output grows significantly making a reliable source of dmg.The downside to this skill is the huge cd.
is a very efficient hots(heal over time spell) and a really awesome spell to sustain while leveling/farming
basicly every tank class in mmorpgs have a similar ability.This is one of the most iconic skill in a traditional tank class,a shield increases block and prevents 1 or multiple cc to be applied to your character
is awesome in group pvp,even increnfkngdible when u have an aoe dmg party.This is a way to say "Fuck you" to all the classes that rely on kiting.Yeap.Bloodbath.finally gettin the hand on those evil archers.This is another underestimated skill in pvp,granted it aint that good in solo pvp but in group or arena is Awesometacular.
i just love this.It allows u to buy time for cds to come up or to think of another strategy if your current one isnt working that well,but care for ppl that have occultism their push can interrupt the spell and they are several other non-targeted/movement displacement that can disrupt your channeling.
Now the passives are,in my opinion,a must for any build that has defense in it,due to the tankiness that they offer.

more defense vs those EVIL archers
flat hp buff and offering more power toand.
Aura
this is the most simple part of your build bcause u dont really need that many spells from this skilltree.blink ability offering u an escape/gapcloser/engage ability.Yeah it bring a lot to the table...did i mention u can use to bypass terrain obstacles.Yeah this is Awesometacular.
cc-removal skill goes really well with
another anti-cc skill,works really good with
Epilogue
This is a perfect class for those players that enjoy entering first on the battle and most likely living last or being the last member of your team to go down.From all the class that could qualify for a "Traditional tank" i rate this the highest due to its ability to soak huge ammounts of dmg,and still being able to dish out some serious dmg vs squishy classes.
I plan to put up another 2 classes and after that doing a short paralel between this classes.
