"Bloodreaver" is Auramancy+Battlerage+Occultism in current alpha build.
note: I will be using alpha names for skills if in text.
Theorycrafting:
5 PBAoE attack skills, 3 PBAoE support skills.
Melee-ranged with 2H staff and plate armor.
Use Retribution at -100% armor Frenzy?
1. Get into melee range:
2. Unleash PBAoE combo:
&
3. If enemies are sticking around:
4. Use situationally:
5. Keep this up when killing things:
6. Defensive cooldowns:
7. Nothing better to do:
a. Skill points I might move after testing?
b. Why not Shadowplay?
Sure it has Shadowstep to go with teleport, but there were other things in Battlerage I wanted, mainly Frenzy. TigerStrike has lower cooldown and WhirlwindSlash might scale fine with 2H staff base damage. Plus Bondbreaker! And Stealth seems overused imo.
c. No Liberation?
The alpha tooltip says only silence and shackle and I feel there are so few skills that inflict those. Might change my mind after L50 testing.
Not enough points for what I want to build >__<
After testing I will probably be able to move around some points.
Welcoming any feedback.
Leveling Notes (Lv25)
Build is working fine for leveling so far.
Damage really opens up at 10, 15, and 20 as you get more of your PBAoE skills.
Works fine for single targets just not very mana efficient. Still have to be wary of what you pull and know what moves the enemies do as a bunch of cc at melee range can create issues - the only risk is overpulling. You can take 3 easy and depending on the group, sometimes up to 5 or more. Still more testing but there might be damage lost on larger groups.
There is certainly situational usage of the PBAoE attacks depending on what is happening in the fight.
Main issues
1. Mana management - farm Potatoes and Cucumbers in the first public farms to make mana food and you should be good.
2. Limited skill rotation - because of cooldowns there is a lot of Mana Stars usage. Don't be afraid to kite between cds.
3. Pre-20 squish - until you make the first plate set, groups of enemies will eat your health pretty fast, even in quest plate.
Sidenote
WhirlwindSlash will knock enemies back sometimes. Weaker and/or smaller enemies get knocked back further. Might only be with Shaken debuff combo (still testing). Keep this in mind when choosing your attacks or some enemies might be knocked outside the range.

I have been using this build for this weekends CBT and liking it alot!
Mana problems indeed but soups have been enough to keep me up, also value point in Recovery.
Reached level 30 and zearing plate w/ using 2H sword.
Pulling groups of mobs with a partner is pretty quick to level :)
I really like the idea since I like both melee and the Occultism theme/setup! Do you know what type of armor that's the best for this build? Plate armor?
I have been trying out Sunder Earth with the point I reclaimed from dropping Terrifying Roar. Sure it has a cast time and its not strictly a PBAoE, but the inspire stack it gives helps make Vicious Implosion meaner. Still testing.
Removing Terrifying Roar from build. 10% reduction in CC on self and 10% increase in CC duration on enemies is pretty weak compared to what I could get from that skill point. The tooltip mentioned that it weakened enemies and was hoping that was something, but it is just the CC debuff.
