Work in progress. I still need to do some formatting and cleaning up but right now I need to do IRL work. Constructive criticisms welcome
Gear:
Armor -- Go for obsidian plate set; Yeah you're gonna lose a lot of mag. def. but there are ways to make up for that. By the time you're at T4 armor you'll already have a shit load of phys. def. so pick up the T4 obsidian version that gives mag. def. on pieces where its available. You'll likely have noticed you melt under the weight of gods whip by now, so, this is why you want it. As for your wrist and waist, work toward getting the Proven Warrior pieces for both. Until then just use Scarlet Reaper pieces or whatever floats your boat but not the Auroria ones. Ideally, a Deph. version is nice. Socket with toughness, resilience, + perry rate, mag. def.,Ancient Battlerage Lunagems, Eternal Defense Lunagems. You want a lot of parry rate because it will reset all your battlerage abilities with Deflect and Retaliate.
You'll want to continually work on your prestige cape and synthesize it to max grade. For Epherium level go with block rate increase. At Delph. level I think there is a mag. def. increase option that you want.
Weapon -- Being tanky is important but you also wanna hit hard and fast. If you have a Hellkissed Sword, used that while you work toward something better, like T4 obsidian (Hungering Blade) or Delp. Flame Sword. The Hellkissed is marginally worse than both, so for me, it's hard to drop. As for the shield, at T4 you should go with Mystic Ward. But depending on what class you run into the most on your server you may want Anticipation. Get the proven warrior battlerage instrument.Socket with attack speed increase. Socket sword with focus gems and +2% melee dmg.; socket shield with prestige + block rate. Bow can be anything you like. However I'd go with options that increases agility.
Combos:
First off, if you're a clicker, prepare to lose a lot in PvP. Gotta move to keybinds if you haven't already. Practice on DS mobs.
This is my Abolisher skill layout. Before a fight, use mag. or phys. def. pot as situation warrants, cast Refreshment and you should always go in with Liberation, Thwart and Battle Focus already cast. 1) to increase attack speed and parry rate; 2) keeps you from being shackled and subsequently tripped early on. Having liberation up also sets you up for a Magic Shield buff. This is important because you obviously will be low on mag. def. at the start, but this will give you more survivability against mage classes. Cast Redoubt BEFORE the 20 seconds and you'll get the magic shield buff and the increase in block rate. So now you're tanky as fuck for about 20 seconds.
Here's the full combo I like to use with some footnotes:1 [Tiger Strike > Leech2 >] [Conversion Shield3 > Shield Slam > Bull Rush4 > Ollo's Hammer >] [Charge > Triple Slash >] [Behind Enemy Line > Triple Slash >] [Tiger Strike > Precision Strike]5
1: [ ] = small combos
2: If you end up way behind your opponent use Charge to close the distance then Leach.
3: You can insert Terrifying Roar if you switch your skills around and continue with Conversion Shield. Conversion Shield further increases your survivability against mage classes. 4: Casting Redoubt will give you a mettle boost and increases damage for this skill. Uses all mettle afterward.
5: Most times you'll end up a little bit behind you opponent after using this allowing you to get that backstab bonus with Precision Strike.
If you pull off this whole combo seamlessly you can keep you opponent down for about 13.5 - 14 seconds while you're mashing his/her face in. Clothies will go down pretty quick. You can use any combination of the partial combo's as needed. Keep in mind though your opponent will automatically have trip immunity after 3 or 4 sequential trips. But by that time you should have already gotten in
Obviously your two next most important anti-CC's are Bondbreaker and Shrug it Off. Opponents will try and bait out all your anti-CC's with small attacks. Don't don't let them. Using Shrug it Off and Revitalizing Cheer together will give you OK heals but not great. In combination with Eternal Defense Lunagems (which give you + 400 - 800 hp for every gem socketed) the combo becomes much more viable.
