Is this build still useable for 2.0?
The man called Logan had already lived a long and violent life when he was kidnapped from his black ops team by a secret government program called Weapon X. In a high-tech lab deep in the Canadian Rockies, scientists bonded the unbreakable metal adamantium to Logan's bones, relying on his mutant healing factor to keep the experiment from killing him.Marvel Source
But Logan escaped the Weapon X program, and before too long drew the attention of Professor Charles Xavier, who recruited him to the X-Men as Wolverine. Despite the objections of those who saw him as more trouble than he was worth, Xavier saw Logan's inner nobility.
Wolverine constantly fights to keep his savage berserker side in check, but no matter how hard he tries, it's usually just a matter of time before he pops his claws and goes to work.
INTRODUCTION
This guide has been updated for patch 1.41.
This build focuses on Wolverine as DPS. Rather than going bleeds like my tanking build, this build focuses on spending fury and getting crit. This build min-maxes your DPS by maximising your damage, crit and attack speed output. It doesn't focus on survivability like how my tank build does, so please remember to move away from hits that will otherwise kill you.
For those who prefer a tanking build, the link to it is at the bottom of this guide.
Without further adieu, I introduce to you the Weapon X DPS Edition below.
POWERS
Claws
Hack 'n' Slash: This build requires you to build up your fury as fast as possible so that you can get activate Berserker Fury. The sooner and more frequent you get into Berserker state the better as that will equate to more DPS for you. Therefore this basic will be your best friend out of the three of them.
Fury
Eviscerate: I replaced Rending Sweep with this power as I found it a little boring to build up fury just to spend it on Berserker Fury and nothing else. Theoretically, this power does more DPS than Rending Sweep BUT practically, it very much depends on your fury management skills.
Alternative: Rending Sweep. Go back to this power if you are find difficulty in building up fury fast enough to use Eviscerate often enough or have trouble juggling between Berserker Fury and Eviscerate.
Unleash the Beast: This power is chosen in the event you need a quick boost of fury to get into Berserker mode faster. The scaling of this power is so bad that it still doesn't justify me placing more than 1 point in here even after reviewing this build again for this new patch.
Berserker Fury: It all comes down to this power for you to spend your fury on. I maxed this power out so that you will maximise the amount of crit rating that you will get the attack speed increase is of course a nice added bonus. The whole idea is to max out your fury bar as fast as possible then activate this power to be able to utilise the maximum benefit of this power to maximise your DPS output.
Weapon X
Healing Factor: What's Wolverine without his Healing Factor? This is his iconic ability which makes him who he is. More importantly, I maxed this out so that he will still have some survivability and not become a glass cannon. What's good about Wolverine's Healing Factor compared to the other heroes' Healing Factor is that Wolverine's Healing Factor has an additional life on hit on top of the passive health regen to keep him alive longer.
Regeneration Boost: This power is a life saver as well but due to the fact that we got more important powers to place our points into, I placed the remaining five points in here. At times like this, you wish that Gaz would give more points to place into powers.
Bloody Victory: This power however is essential that you max it out for this build. Not only because it increases your survivability, its that extra damage rating which will maximise your DPS output from your frequent crits.
Furious Lunge: One point wonder power to get around faster.
Feral Senses: Whole idea of maxing out this power is to maximise your crit rating with the added bonus of revealing your enemies on the minimap. Nothing much to explain here.
Adrenaline Rush: Added this in due to the additional dodge rating which Gaz added on top of the speed boost. Helps slightly in survivability from the mitigation gained from the Dodge Rating.
Adamantium Skeleton: This power has been enhanced with Energy Defense Rating, so its good for a slight increase in defense.
GEARS
Relic:
Relic of Atlantis. Highly recommended for increase in crit damage for higher DPS.
Alternative: Relic of Lemuria. Go for this if you need more survivability.
Artifacts:
Edge of Infinity - Goes without saying
Xerogen Crystal - After Gaz buffed this artifact, it has become one of the most powerful artifacts in the game.
Alternative: Hand of Doom if you can find one. Will talk about it when its on the website.
Medal:
Bulleyes Medal for that extra crit rating and damage.
Costume Affixes & Core:
Affixes:
Offensive Affixes - Crit Rating
Core - Rarity or Special Find is up to you. +1 Durability for that damage reduction and minor health regen to add to your survivability and +1 Strength for that extra DPS.
CONCLUSION
Well...that's the end of this guide for now. Will be updating it if there are any changes or new patches to come. In the mean time, enjoy this build and/or the alternative variations which suits you. Hope you like it!
