After i retconned countless times, I finally came to this build. I had AoE on my mind so i found maxing Bolas over Truncheon the better choice. Truncheon is still a great 1 pointer for the bonus to melee damage, once it gets fixed at least. I wasnt a fan of cestus so i maxed avatar and put the remaining points in Moon Staff.

Artifacts & Medallion:

Since my main two attacks were AoE based, I decided to use a Doctor Octopus Medallion and Power Prism Shard. And man, ive been hooked ever since. At first i didnt think the range would increase that much on nunchuck bulldoze, but i was seriously wrong. The radius of bolas grows tremendously. These two abilities combined just annihilate everything around ya. Not only does the radius help, the crit rating is very helpful indeed.

Ive found that an Adv Atlantean Jewel is awesome to help you sustain the nunchuck bulldoze and bolas while staying low on spirit to maximize the damage without completely running out all the time real fast like. The bonus defense you get doesnt hurt either. Have switched to AdvCCoC since mana really isnt an issue.

Idol of konshu is pretty much a no brainer. Every tick from bolas will proc the bonus damage from this artifact and +1 skills to boot, its a BiS for him.

The last artifact is more situational than anything for me, and honestly, you could pick anything you want here. A good defensive artifact isnt a bad choice, but personally, i go with a ziggurat when im farming LQ. and once i get my hands on an HoD, ill be using that for XD and other content.

Uru Forge:
I use a physical uru with a bone breaker runeword. Hes honestly got a lot of good choices here. I dont agree with stacking hp to obscene levels(30k+) because you'll be sacrificing a lot of damage to do so, and its honestly not needed, but whatever floats your boat.

Relic:
Subterranea for my relic stack. The added defense is hard to pass up.

Legendary:
Norn stones is my legendary of choice. Its just an all around solid choice in my eyes. Its good offensively and defensively. He gets absurd levels of crit and crit damage through his gifts, so i dont really think a gungnir is necessary. The only other thing i would put here would be an Excalibur.

Insignia:
Id go for any 2 of these stats

Ive got a wolverine insignia with 900 crit damage 210 melee damage
o'grady is pretty decent here.
Dum Dum is a good contender here, especially for leveling.

Core & Affixes:
I use a Str/Invuln core with crit damage for my affixes. Health affixes are good for for a defensive build when running cosmics.

Ring:
crit>brutal chance>crit damage>health>melee dmg>aoe dmg

slot 1:
His unique weapon does the job pretty well here, its got a good amount of crit and crit damage and +6 to his legionnaire tree.

slot 2:
his unique slot two is a really great defensive piece of equipment and i cant see anything else going here.

slot 3:
dunno, his slot 3 unique is okay, i havnt really looked into replacing mine yet, and it has the defensive stats your looking for. HP and HP regen

slot 4:
I find alpha flight snow shoes make an amazing slot 4 for him and can only see a very nicely rolled cosmic, footsigons or possibly even boot knife. While snow shoes make an amazing defensive item, footsigon and boot knife are strictly offensive.

Slot 5:
I think a really nice rolled cosmic would be best suited here. Especially one with bulwark or might. His unique is by no means bad for this build though. Its a huge damage boost with bolas and you'd be suprised how often mobs are slowed.

This is by no means his best build, but it seriously fun. At least for me. Give it a shot if you find that your not having fun with him and this just might change your mind on him, I know it did for me.
