A. Basic - HEY, I'M USING ONE FOR A FEW LEVELS...PROBLEM? So a lot of people don't like to use a basic on Iron Man at all. While leveling, it may be important that we take one just because you won't have max spirit at all times for the first few levels of your journey. As a result, we'll take Repulsor Ray and max it until you find that you arent running out of spirit anymore. This ability is a bit slow and clunky, but works wonders. You'll eventually find that you can RETCON out of it, at which point we will switch to one of the following:

Pulse Bolt - Pulse Bolt costs about 11 Spirit per cast. It is an AOE with incredibly high damage that also stuns enemies that it hits, and has to be "aimed". Its an absolutely silly ability, and we'll use it for its AOE clearing potential and just general destructive capabilities. Considered by far one of Iron Man's best abilities

Wrist Rocket - This is the extremely lazy option. You don't have to aim it (you have to target, but not aim), it attacks ridiculously fast, and costs less spirit. The upside is that this ability gets +damage from Arc Reactor, the downside is that its mainly +Physical damage and therefore doesn't get much benefit from +Energy stats (only its secondary damage). Its pretty awesome, and is a "no work" alternative to an already super easy Pulse Bolt

@RubiksQbert helped me edit my description for Wrist Rocket, thanks!

PICK ONE AND MAX THIS ABILITY AT ALL TIMES

B. Arc Reactor Enhancement - Probably the best passive in the game (honestly). Gives Iron Man max spirit, and free damage based on your bonus spirit. The % bonus is huge and scales with points in the ability. To give you an idea, my Iron Man with 993 Spirit gets 300% of his bonus spirit added to damage (so...almost 2600 damage for free). Its roughly 3 level 60 Weapons by itself. MAX THIS ABILITY AT ALL TIMES

C. Repulsor Barrage -Our single-target shred ability. Iron Man shoots tons of lazors really fast. Pretty self explanatory. Hold down the key to murder. MAX THIS ABILITY AT ALL TIMES

D. Hyper-Velocity Charge - Your basic movement power. You charge around and get attack and movement speed after you use it. Generally consider utilizing this power to position, and then unload with the increased attack speed. PUT ONE POINT IN THIS ABILITY

E. The One-Off - This skill is ridiculous. It has a signature-ish cooldown, and for all intents and purposes serves as Iron Man's sig. It does a ton of damage to everything in the incredibly generous radius, and is considered (rightfully so) one of the best abilities. EVAR. MAX THIS ABILITY AT ALL TIMES

F. Force Shield - This skill gives you tons of tankiness (a shield you have to activate but regens over time thanks to a passive further down in the tree). Additionally, we'll be able to use Shield Overload (below) to pop this ability and do a crap ton of damage. Since this is a lazy build we'll max this because it makes us less likely to die, and its fun. Also gives us scaling def. and flat damage negation. MAX THIS ABILITY AT ALL TIMES.

G. Shield Overload - This ability is what makes a basicless build possibly. Basically, you hit this ever-so-often and you immediately gain a scaling % of your spirit back (upwards of like 50%). Additionally you do tons of damage to anything around you, and do more damage based on your max shield capacity. MAX THIS ABILITY AT ALL TIMES

H. Adaptive Defenses - Regen, more importantly...regens your shield while its active, and does damage to melee attackers. DUMP EXTRA POINTS HERE. (This ability keeps your shield up, which is important for Overload)

I. Missile Control System – A crit passive that gives you vision of enemies on the map. We won't really have the points to pimp this out, and we're not overly concerned with the little chance to fire missiles that comes with it. PUT ONE POINT IN THIS ABILITY FOR ITS UTILITY

J. System Reboot - A one point wonder that revives Iron Man when/if you die and does damage to everyone around you.

Playstyle:
A. Hyper Velocity Charge to set yourself up for incredible damage! Also make sure to turn on your shield and have Overload handy
B. Blow things up with your "basic" (Pulse Bolt/Wrist Rocket)
C. If it s a boss, Repulsor Barrage them down.
D. One-Off everything to kill it.
E. Spirit getting low? Overload to get it back near full!
F. You are as awesome as this guy!

2. Gear:
Uniques:
Slot 1 – Experimental Overcharged Repulsors (Iron Man Unique) - Damage, crit, TONS OF CRIT DAMAGE (like 4k-competes with Anti-Metal Ammunition in that department), +Energy, +Coolant Blast (meh), +a lot to all Energy Beam powers (Excellent). Best for our build, take it!

Slot 2 – Uru-Infused Armor (Iron Man Unique) makes us really tanky. We get some durability out of the equation, def, health, regen, +to Defensive Systems (yay), +to Reboot (so some passive defense), and a few other skills we don't use. If you have an Eidolon Warwear Any Hero Unique I'd use that over this, since it gives Ranged damage..but this is a great tanky option.

Slot 3 – Extremis Undersheath (Iron Man Unique) - Spirit, Speed, Attack speed, Dodge, +Defensive systems (our Shield Powers). We really like this for the +Spirit (its not a small amount) so I would use it for that.

Slot 4 – Boots of the Galactic Guardian (Iron Man Unique) are really for a missile build. I'd get on the Hydra Repulsor (all-hero Unique) bandwagon, since they help you do more Energy damage. Take those instead.

Slot 5 – ST-99 Targeting Software (Iron Man Unique) - Damage, crit, crit damage, energy damage, brutal, +All powers, +Energy..absolutely ridiculous. Must have.

Some may suggest Oscorp Generator for this build because its tons of Spirit, but honestly you're going to need some other stats as well-and his Uniques are pretty solid. I'd shelve this one for the moment

Artifacts:
Beta Particle Mini-Reactor - Upwards of 100+ spirit, must have for our build.
Super Soldier Serum - Tanky, tanky, tanky. Also gives Spirit, win-win.
Something with Spirit or Damage on it. HoD/Xerogen/Meta for +all powers and flat damage. Whatever you want really.
Pluvian Superconductor - More damage with Area powers (i.e. Pulse Bolt/Rocket, One-Off, Shield Overload. Very helpful)

Blessings: I would recommend Hela's for the brutal since we can get some crit.
Costume: +1 Energy and Spirit. Hands down need Spirit for this.
Legendary: We don't have a ton of crit (just from the Repulsors, a small passive and the Targeting Software) so we can Gungir, but M'kraan Shard gives us a ton of spirit and therefore a crap ton of damage.
Insignia: Dat O'Grady.
Uru item: Energy or Ranged (If Wrist Rocketing) Uru with anything that gives Spirit. You can also enchant your Slot 1-5's with spirit from the enchanter. Works wonders.
Relics: Gibborim for spirit so we can get more out of Arc Reactor, no question.
Medallion: Cosmic Doom gives Spirit -and- Flat damage. Pyro gives +Energy damage, but no Spirit. Either/or.

3. Leveling Strategy
Use that basic that no-one likes until you can get your whole Shield Overload-Shield Automatically Regening-Shield Overload thing going (you need the passive at the bottom of his second tree to make this work). Then switch over to Pulse Bolt or Wrist Rocket (probably Pulse). Take the One-Off and Barrage as they come, and you'll be facerolling the game in no time. Enjoy! Make sure to always level up Arc Reactor!
