NEW UPDATE 9/14/13-The new systems that have been implemented have greatly increased surviveability. You can now slug it out toe to toe with just about anything. Stay out of Rhino & Juggernaught's way though. Besides that you will find not much can take you down. The DOT damage has been increased, which on this build is huge. The ability to deal even heavier damage with Brutal Strikes is also a great improvement. Have fun and try out some powers that you haven't yet and see what you like. There really isn't a bad way to go here!

The 15% decrease to Fuel for the Flame's damage isn't even noticeable since the DOT now Crit's!

Now that he's 60 I'm trying to find the best set up for max damage and survival. I'll keep the build as up to date as I can but the big changes coming with next months patch will determine the ultimate end build I come up with.

Alternate between Scattering Blaze and Burning Volley to literally melt them extremely fast. By alternating you will keep applying DOT from Fuel for the Flame (hit with the nerf bat today -15% Damage. Tested see above* 8-8-13)and setting up for that huge extra damage that SB will do to burning targets. I also find that if they are in a Scorching Pyre they are still burning anyway. This bonus damage, when coupled with high Crit % will make you a beast.

For Super Villians I do a slight alteration for even more damage.

Activate Flame On and use Fiery Uppercut to get right in close. I have Fiery Uppercut on my left click and this works perfectly to close the distance to any Super Villian as you move extra fast with Flame On active. Thermal Intensity boosts all this amazing damage to new levels. Once in close you can alternate with SB and BV as Flame On is Critting the health away like our tax dollars!

Blazing Charge is there for your escape power. Get some distance quick or avoid an Alpha strike.

These powers all work excellent together and have helped me to level 60 with great success in Manhatten after playing thru the game 1st.

Gear for Crit % & Crit damage. I also use rarity finding gear that increases rarity drop by 15% but lowers my Crit chance to 13%. When I use this alt gear it doesn't seem to make a large difference but it is noticable.

I can't emphasize enough that the DOT Crit's are the core of this concept.



A note on gear: Go for Crit stat's. The ones I have selected in this build are what I'm running and by far work great. For your costume there are some great options. The core I've switched to now gives +1 Energy Projection, +25% Health & Spirit when you use a medkit, 2 seconds of Invulnerability when you use a medkit. This has helped alot! When adding affixes I went for Crit stat's.

I hope this helps someone to at least get an idea for their Torch.
