is this build still effective?
After rescuing a de-aged Storm from the Shadow King, Gambit was brought back to the X-Mansion where he eventually joined the X-Men. As a mutant, Gambit possesses the ability to convert the potential energy in an object into destructive kinetic energy. Gambit and his fellow X-Man Rogue have an unsteady relationship, with a nearly equal mix of time together and time apart.

With the release of cosmic terminals I decided to alter the build to be less focused on Boss TTK times and added in some survivability. I opted to move away from conditional damage to give the build more freedom while keeping it's kill time high.
This build focuses on using Stack the Deck from range as a main source of damage for Cosmic Termnials. RF is used to clear dense packs of trash but can also function to multi explode on stationary bosses. AoS is used to apply a slow. Combined with Loki's synergy this will apply a 5% vulnerability for the duration of the slow. It can also be canceled without losing much std channeling time.

Video from 2.13. The differences from current spec were 20 points in 52 card pickup instead of StD and I was using 3 motion Trackers and a HoD for artifacts.

Core Abilities
Bo Combat ~
* Bo Beatdown - Optional 1 pointer. The 10% vulnerability is extremely strong, unfortunately we won't be spending much time if any in melee range. Extremely limited use, but worthy of 1 point for a situational dps increase.
Kinetic Mastery ~
* Royal Flush - We're playing entirely off of the explosions. It's possible to routinely hit 1 target with 3 explosions making it extremely strong if you can manage to stay in the range "sweet spot". RF is very effective for clearing out dense packs of cosmic terminal trash from extremely deep as well.
* Kinetic Control - At rank 40 this ability is valued at approximately 1175 damage rating (at max range). It also comes with a decent chunk of Spirit (124 @ rank 40) which is a nice perk.
* Stack the Deck - A universally good turret attack. You're capable of being fairly mobile with it by target locking and rolling around to avoid kill mechanics. With RC up this is your go to attack for single target damage on non stationary bosses.
* Ace of Spades - [Optional] - Combined with the loki synergy adds a 5% vulnerability debuff to the target for the slow duration. AoS can still be animation canceled.
* 52 Card Pickup - [Optional] - This is not a good sustained source of DPS but the spike damage and control options make it a viable ability for boss TTK runs. You can preload this before a boss spawns and essentially get free damage.
Vagabound ~
* Sleight of Hand - This is your main source of survivability. If you have an item with a decent level Grant of SoH on it you an invest these points elsewhere.
* Ragin' Cajun - Solid DPS steroid. This is a max ability for every gambit spec.
* Black Suits - [Optional] - The difference between 1 pointing and maxing this ability is roughly 2.5% base damage
* Red Suits - [Optional] - This is a great form of sustain. Spirit breakpoints occur at 7(2), 18(3), 28(4), 40(5). I 1 point this ability and let my +skills take it to the 2 spirit breakpoint. You can go higher if you feel the need to.
