Punisher 2.1 Build

Punisher is just as playable, if not more so now than he was before the 2.1 patch. My first and favorite hero in MH.

Powers to max:

Driven by Vengeance - Spirit, Brutal and Critical Strike Rating Bonus's.

Shotgun Blast - Your main spam ability, does up to 50% more damage to close targets.

Pain Tolerance - Defense Rating and Health, with ignore bonus to damage received and projectiles passive.

Explosive Rocket - Heavy hitting AOE attack that does bonus damage to the target directly struck by the Rocket.

Proximity Mine - Heavy hitting AOE attack that adds vulnerability and does bonus damage to frightened targets.

Sticky Mines - Adds more damage to your Mines and an immobilize effect.

One-Point Wonders:

Lock & Load - I don't actually put points into this skill, however I have points in it with my current gear and have it on my bar, for a small jolt of Spirit. It isn't always needed so I don't put points into it.

Quick Escape - Used to avoid damage when needed, but also does good damage itself and stuns targets.

The last two skills I put points into, I only put points in because of the added effects that they grant. I have 5 points spent in each of them and bonus points from gear, for a total of 9 each. The base effects are great if you'd like to spend the other points elsewhere.

Killer Instinct - Restores Spirit when you terrify a target and adds bonus damage to unaware targets. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's nice when it does. I don't consider it a big enough bonus to grant anything other than left over points to this skill.

Cold-Blooded Crusader - Base 20% chance to terrify other enemies when you defeat a target. (Even with a total of 9 points in it due to gear / left over skill points, I only have a 28% chance to terrify. It's not a huge difference.) Doesn't happen all the time but nice when it does.

Hotbar Setup:

First, I need to say that I don't use the LMB for ANYTHING. Whether it's because of my current mouse, or my oldschool playstyle, I just find it awkward to use. So here is my key setup. But hopefully this gives you a better over-all view of how I use the build.

LMB - BLANK
A - Quick Escape
S - Proximity Mine
D - Shotgun Blast
Q - Lock and Load
E - Deadly Barrage (I have this skill through Gear bonuses. Don't use it often.)
Z - Grim Retribution
RMB 1 - Explosive Rocket

I changed my function keys from F1-F6 to 1-6, so that I could reach them easier. Since you can have up to 6 skills bound into the RMB slot.

Costume:

The Core is in the build, but I rolled a mixture of Critical Rating and Damage Rating for his Affixes.

Gear:

As far as gear goes, Punisher has some nice Uniques. Old Painless, The Whole 9 Yards and his Davy Crockett Nuclear Device are all awesome. Besides these, if you're lucky like I was, get your hands on a unique named SHIELD Life Support Gear for his chest. Works perfectly for more survivability. Otherwise, Just remember as you're gearing up to focus on items that give you health, health regen, crit, damage or benefit your skills and you'll do fine.

Synergies:

Cable
Colossus
Deadpool
Gambit
Hulk
Iron Man
Loki
Punisher
Spiderman
Storm

These are the Synergies I currently use / have. Might change as I get more of them that benefit this Hero.

This build has extreme survivability and does fantastic damage. Again, as with all of my builds, this is just my opinion and view on this Hero. I welcome any feedback or suggestions and hope that this build helps others who are looking at playing this hero.

12/28 - Added Hotbar setup and adjusted build overview to reflect changes made by Marvelbase. It says there are 4 points leftover, but there aren't, so ignore the slider.
