NOTICE: My guide has lot's more information about gearing and how to play this build!

DISCLAIMER: By no means is this necessarily the best Spider-Man build out there. ;)

SKILLS:

Spidey Pummel: Best damaging basic attack, AND coolest animation.

Spider To The Fly: This is what helps you deal large numbers on melee attacks. The critical rating and brutal rating are just a nice bonus!

Spider-Brawl (previously Amazing Uppercut): This power has the best melee TTK for Spidey, so I max it. Don't weave it with Spidey Pummel (deals less DPS that way) unless you have spirit problems, and do it for sustainability.

Webswing Assault: Best movement for PvP due to CC immunity. It's always worth a point, IMO, but you don't need to put a point here if you don't want to.

Amazing Smash: Trash cleaner - does loads of damage. Keep this maxed and it will provide you with amazing single-target burst damage when fighting bosses, as well as a brilliant screen-clearer. :)

Leaping Assault: AoE trash cleaner. Although it has a cooldown (and Wrecking Ball does more AoE DPS), I find that it is effective since it usually takes out all grey enemies in one shot, and we can use Spider-Brawl to mob up the survivors while they are knocked down.

Web Spray: Put all extra points here, since the extra AoE is always nice when LA and AS are on cooldown, especially when you're in a tough situation. The low spirit cost makes this a very spammable ability.

Spider Sense: Good power, but dodge is not too great at the moment. Plus, you can usually get it to rank 20 anyway, just with well-rolled uniques. The most important part, the evade chance, doesn't scale with ranks, so... :)

Constrictive Webbing: Helps a LOT when kiting bosses due to the DoT. Even though this build is mainly melee focused, its worth 20 since Leaping Assault and Web Spray both benefit from it, and it synergizes well with STTF. Also, extra spirit is something that all Spidey's will benefit from greatly!

Agile Attack: Best movement for PvE, and it does some good damage and gives a great buff. What's not to like?

Superior Agility: Nice useful buff, and since they changed the damage rating to activate upon movement power use, it is a must max to get max DPS while fighting. Just remember to use Agile Attack every 10 seconds or so.

Deflective Web Shield: One pointer since it is quite a good steroid, but no longer a passive as well.

Note: You can take Web Barrage instead of Spider Brawl (in which case Horizon Lab Webshooters would beat out Parker Industries Webshooters), or by taking points away from some passives/Amazing Smash if you want. Also, you can max Spider Sense instead of any one of the offensive passives if you want (if you feel very squishy). Another option is to max Agile Attack - this is great if you like mobility, since Agile Attack does great damage when maxed for a movement power.

Gear

Uniques are BiS (Choose Spider-Bots over Superior Claws for the glove slot, and Parker Industries over Horizon Lab for the webshooters) , but you should also look for +ranks in any of the maxed skills or Corrosive Webbing, Spider Sense, Amazing Smash. Grants at a high level (20+) are also very good, especially for the one point wonders. As of now, Mask of Kaine and Black Boots of Martial Prowess (the Boots are very good, so make sure you have a great pair of cosmic boots before replacing them) aren't BiS - a well rolled cosmic (all high priority affixes) would beat it.

People who don't have all uniques should look for gear with:

High Priority: Crit rating, crit damage, health, + skills (powers that I use a lot), damage rating, health regen

Medium Priority: Defence, dodge, brutal strike rating, + grants skills at high ranks (any passives that you don't necessarily use a lot, but are still useful), spirit

Low priority: Movement speed, attack speed, + skills (any passives that you don't necessarily use a lot, but are still useful), grants to any skills you use

Artifacts are a good mix of defense and offense to help keep the build well rounded (NOTE: You can use Advanced Kung Fu Training Sequence instead of White Suit Jacket, but marvelbase doesn't have it on the site). Spidey's weakness is survivability, but these artifacts help keep you alive so you can deal out some HIGH damage. Some other possible artifacts you can use instead of these are (no particular order): Nutso The Squirrel, Ziggurat of Kargul, Gem of The Kursed, Hand of Doom, FFoF, Yukio's Charm and all the non-advanced versions of all these artifacts.

The blessings I use are 2 Hela, and 2 Fandral.

Insignia: Eric O' Grady, Valkyrie, Dum Dum Dugan, or Invisible Woman for this build (look for high priority affixes, crit damage and health being the best).

I use the [item]204[/item] Tombstone Medallion, which is great since it gives defense as well as damage for melee. The other procs don't hurt either! However, Hulk, Blob, Juggernaut, Kurse and the others which I mention in my guide are fine too.

On costume affixes, you should go for crit damage or health, depending if you think you have enough survivability or not (health is also better for PvP players). Crit damage scales a LOT better on costume affixes than normal damage rating, and can get your overall crit damage to 200% (with a few good rolls) which also buffs your brutal strikes. My core is Life on Hit and invulnerability on medkit.

Legendary: Excalibur, or Gungnir would be best (unless you have over 45% crit, in which case the Ares axe would be better than Gungnir, but still worse than Excalibur). The 200 LoH on Excalibur is just TOO good to pass up on for this build!

Build Layout:

LMB: Spidey Pummel
A: Web Spray
S: Agile Attack
D: Leaping Assault
F: Spider-Brawl
G: Amazing Smash
H: Deflective Web Shield
RMB: Spider Strike (emergency spirit recovery)
E: Medkit

Hope you guys all enjoy this fun, and active playing melee focused hybrid build!!
