Thor is the Norse god of thunder and the son of Odin All-Father, ruler of Asgard. He wields the mystic hammer Mjolnir, which allows him to fly and fire bolts of lightning.Marvel Source
Thor was a founding member of the Avengers and frequently battles as one of their number. At times, Thor has used the secret identity of Donald Blake to walk among mortals, but he always returns to the halls of Asgard to hoist a tankard with his fellow gods.
Thor, Shock and Awe by PaytonThirtyFour 2015
Preface:
This is a build that combines all the best of Thor's ranged and area of effect skills into some devastating gameplay. If there is a weakness to this build, it is that it requires some management of the cool downs. This can be easily managed with some practice.
There are a few viable builds for Thor as he has other skill choices that also work well. You are more likely to appreciate this build if you tend to prefer ranged attacks and burst and evade gameplay with survivability over say toe to toe combat and few cd's.
Gameplay:
Your rotation will very as cool downs become a factor. For opening, I use Asgardian Smite to leap into a pack of enemies (Mobs). Then I cast godly valor and anti-force. Use Thunderous Charge and Almighty Mjolnir until your cd's become available again or to take down a few stray mobs that survived your burst.
For Villains or high health enemies use your burst and then cast Almighty Mjolnir at maximum charge. Almighty Mjolnir can miss often while you learn to use it. Don't worry, it needs some rework but you will learn to manage it to some effectiveness. Learn when tapping it is more advantageous then a full charge. You will still do a surprising amount of damgage on tap.
Build:
The 20 point investments are my suggestions base on my play style. "Other Good Options" are skills that are effective
if you want to experiment and adjust to your own style of play. Remain points can be put wherever you like.

Items:
Essentially you want to maximize your Damage Rating for ranged and area skills or overall. In addition, Critical and Brutal strike chances should be as high as possible but consider diminishing returns occur around 40% which is more than enough. The artifacts I choose were just early suggestions and most are easy to get (except HOD of course). I am not a min/max player so for itemization I suggest you inquire on the marvel heroes Thor Forums. There are a few decent legendary options for this build but probably the safest choice if you can't decide is Gungir.
Conclusion:
This is a fun base build that will give you a good place to start in playing Thor effectively. You can choose different variations off this build quite easily. For example, you can choose to replace a passive with a melee attack or you can replace almighty mjolnir with a melee attack or another area attack if you prefer. I really enjoyed playing Thor and I hope this helps a few people get the same enjoyment I did.
Update for 2015 1.0:
You now have 162 available points. My suggested additional investments in my own prioritization based on my playstyle is as follows
Thunderous Charge, Whirling Hammer Defense, Storm Strike, and Bring the Thunder. Your choices will depend on your play style and preferences. Have fun with the extra points!
