When he was bitten by a radioactive spider, high-school student Peter Parker gained a suite of powers reminiscent of a spider, including agility, wall-crawling, and the ability to sense danger (his trademark "spider-sense"). When Peter learned that his beloved Uncle Ben had been murdered by a thief that Peter himself had selfishly allowed to escape, he realized that with his new powers also came a new obligation of responsibility to use them for good. Since that day, Spider-Man has fought criminals and super-villains while enduring a constant barrage of negative press, a stream of personal losses, and the occasional crisis of confidence. Somehow he manages to maintain a positive attitude, and rarely lacks for a humorous quip when battling bad guys.Marvel Source
Gear
Slot 1 – Horizon-Lab Web Shooters (Spider-Man Unique) - No contest. Tons of damage (up there with Bone Claws). +Webslinger powers, attack speed. 'Nough said.
Slot 2 – Iron Spider Breastplate (Spider-Man Unique) - Also amazing. Health, tons of Energy and regular Def, chance to ignore Projectiles, tons of points in Crimefighter powers and Spider Sense (one of our best passives). Absolutely ridiculously awesome.
Slot 3 – Spider-Bots or Superior Clawed Gloves (Spidey Uniques). Superior Clawed Gloves are a more tanky option, given that they have health on them. Both gives points to Wallcrawler powers. I give the edge to the Spider-Bots though because they have Dodge and a ton of points to Spider to the Fly.
Slot 4 – Martial Black Boots (Spider-Man Unique) - Awesome Unique named after an awesome player. These boots give health, some nifty procs, and +to Pummel, Web Spray, and Constrictive Webbing. Those powers are all amazing, and since we max them, we'll want these.
Slot 5 – Shadowed Mask of Kaine (Spider-Man Unique) - One of my favorite Uniques of all time. +2 to all stats. Period. When the stat rework hits, this is going to be absurd. Take it now, and love it.
Artifacts
Advanced Crimson Crystal - Health, physical damage. w00t! Also chance on Invuln helps us survive.
Advanced Kung Fu - With lots of Melee stuff going on, I like the health, dodge, damage, etc.
Pym's Shrinking - Dodge character, so we get tons of spirit back on dodge!
Hand of Doom / Gem of the Kursed / Pym Growth (more health helps)
Other
Blessings: Helas for sure. We're a character with lots of crit on Uniques/our Tree
Costume: +1 Fighting and +1 Strength.
Insignia: Dat O'Grady.
Legendary: Spider-Man has a decent amount of crit. Since we don't have crit damage, Gungir is fine. Excal is a good second choice (doesn't benefit Web Spray, but hey Life on Hit is awesome). Additionally, we can shoot for Norn Stones (it'll cap out like 2/3 of our abilities with a good Core and an Uru that gives +stats, and the rework may be awesome for us). Up to you.
Medallion: I like Kingpin, Sabretooth, anything to make us tankier. Tombstone is okay even.
Relics: Lemurias for life on hit.
Uru item: Physical Uru with Bonebreaker (+1 Strength) unless you can get Heartbreaker, or go for something tanky. I dunno on this one.
Leveling Strategy
Sadly we have to start Spider Strike, and will need a retcon around 32 to get into Pummel. Otherwise, the build is straight-forward with us picking up Web Spray at level 2. We'll be able to level up Spider Sense for survivability early, and Brawl will let us murder bosses at the beginning of the game. Once enemies get more health, we'll pick up Constrictive Webbing and Amazing Smash to murder everything. His leveling curve is smooth and much improved.
Playstyle
A. Make a terrible joke that isn't at all funny and may cause multiple villains to stab their own eardrums, causing you to win the game immediately.
B. Agile attack to hop around and get some extra Movement/Attack Speed.
C. Web Spray trash for murdering. You can spam this ability or let the DoT do the work for you.
D. Pummel/Brawl bosses. Amazing Smash to bunch em all up!
E. Enjoy! You're Spider-Man!
Side Notes
Uru-Forged - "Lunar Eclipse" on a Physical attacks Uru
Medallion - group play = Madame Hydra / solo = Cosmic Blob
Blessings - Hela, Fandral, Hogun, and Volstagg
Insignia: Eric O' Grady, Valkyrie, Dum Dum Dugan, or Invisible Woman (look for high priority affixes)
Costume Affixes - you should go for crit damage or health, depending if you think you have enough survivability or not (health is also better for PvP players). Crit damage scales a LOT better on costume affixes than normal damage rating, and can get your overall crit damage to 200% (with a few good rolls) which also buffs your brutal strikes
Legendary: Excalibur, or Gungnir would be best (unless you have over 45% crit, in which case the Ares axe would be better than Gungnir, but still worse than Excalibur). The 200 LoH on Excalibur is just TOO good to pass up on for this build!
