Taskmaster possesses "photographic reflexes", an ability that allows him to replicate any actions he has seen, as well as recall them from memory. He has used these skills as a combat instructor for hundreds of supervillains, henchmen, and private miliy companies.Marvel Source
In order to clear his criminal record, he started working with the U.S. government as a combat instructor and currently serves as a member of S.H.I.E.L.D's Secret Avengers.
Gear
Slot 1 – Finesse's Baton (Taskmaster Unique) - Ah....my trusty baton. Damage on physical, attack speed on hit, critical damage, brutal damage, chance when you hit to cause a bleed, +to our Melee tree (not helpful for this build but we'll take it).
Or Since we're Ranged, we can try a few other any-hero Uniques. Death Seed when combined with our Hawkeye Toggle and .45 will make us a brutal MACHINE. Also the health is really nice. The Betty Ross Sword when combined with our Slot 4 gives us a ton of extra damage to bosses (and SG synergy..oh boy). Death Seed I think is my chosen option outside of his Slot 1, but all are good.
Slot 2 – Agency X Body Armor (Taskmaster Unique) - Health, Tenacity, +1 Durability, when hit by melee/ranged those powers cost 10% less and we deal (X) more of that type of damage, +to all powers, +to Emulation (our best passive). Was fine for melee, will be fine for ranged.
Slot 3 – Frightful Four Hood (Taskmaster Unique) - Spirit, Health regen, +1 Strength, Dodge, chance on Dodge to get tanky, +damage after we use a Movement Power. Points to our ranged tree. Since this Unique is best for our tree, I'm down. We're always going to be using Movement powers, and the Strength will increase our damage overall (we have low strength so we'll take any points we can get).
Slot 4 – VideoTape Collection (Taskmaster Unique) - Health, more duration to our signature (2 seconds), RiF, SiF, damage to bosses, Movement Speed, +all powers, +to all of our toggles (MUST HAVE).
Slot 5 – Solid Energy Shield (Taskmaster Unique) - All kinds of tanky, crit rating, brutal rating, health, chance when attacked to block damage, + to our passive-heavy/toggle tree (epic).
Artifacts
Advanced Crimson Crystal: (we do Physical damage, and health is awesome). Works for both melee and ranged.
Super Soldier: Can't beat tanky!
Advanced Meta Sensory Array
Pym's Shrinking: spirit on Dodge, health, Dodge. Maht's Arrowhead gives us some awesome bleeds and regen. Otherwise substitute a Hand of Doom/Gem of the Kursed/Xerogen Crystal here. If you can't find a Pym's, go Maht's.
Gem of the Kursed / HoD / or Advanced Meta if you find yourself being tanky enough and not needing health. Could replace Super Soldier, I dunno.
Other
Blessings - Helas. Fandrals look attractive but he has so much Dodge/Crit from passives/uniques it'd be best to go with brutal. Harder to get and a flat 20% so your rapidly accumulating brutal from items/passives doesn't matter.
Costume: +1 Strength and another stat or 25% Life/Spirit on Medkit, or health. When the stat rework hits, you may want +1 Strength +1 Fighting, but his Fighting gets quite high now. +1 Strength is great for physical damage period, so it doesn't matter if we're melee or ranged.
Insignia: Dat O'Grady. Or Valkyrie for health!
Legendary: Apollo Bow hands down for ranged, but you can go Gungir if you plan on switching a bit. (Or hybrid).
Medallion: Dr. Doom (damage/health/spirit/duration) mainly because duration is very good for bleeds and we get flat damage. Bullseye is probably overkill, which I don't like.
Relics: Lemurias for life on hit. I kind of like Snakeroots also. If we want to capitalize on bleed damage, Wakanda.
Uru item: Physical/Ranged Uru with Heartbreaker possibly (crit/brutal/damage), Blood Barrage is great for Ranged, Bowazon is obvious. The problem with all of these runes is that they require some rare ones.
Leveling Strategy
Taskmaster: All I do is teach people how to level up. Shoot stuff with your .45, I learn Volley and Legion Arrow quite early and can use them to clear a room. Stop being a scrub and activate those toggles, especially since we get our Hawkeye toggle first. I get Tear Gas arrow kinda late, but we should be totally up and running by the 37 in entirety. You can also use that lame Spider-Man's web ability till then if you're hurting for something else.
Playstyle
A. Anti-Heroic charge because "JUST LIKE CAP!" (kudos if you get the reference)
B. Throw down a Tear Gas Arrow for AOE DoT action, and watch things die.
C. Volley to bring down trash.
D. Legion Arrow will wreck bosses and blues/yellows.
E. I'm the best there is, shut up Wolverine.
And Deadpool, I hate that guy.
