    Intro:

This is a non-standard build in that it doesn't solely focus on Bio-shell and Electrocute as DPS. Get tanky and still do damage. I enjoy this build a lot, since the increased survivability shows quite quickly during fights vs your standard Assault engineer.

You're a tank. Use abilities that work with those stats. Explanations below.

Amazing. I spec it fully in order to provide an extra measure of control to the battlefield. This can either build 10 Volatility or 100. Aim well, boom! 100 Volatility. Dump time! Damage is nothing to brag about, it's more of a builder with added benefits. Being that it can out generate just about every builder out there.

The Engineer's best DPS in a single hit. Spec it to Tier 4, keep within 30-70 Volatility to make it instant cast. It's a great volatility builder and does great damage. When instant cast is up, very good to use, then Thresher to keep yourself in the 30-70 Vol. Zone.

As a support tank, spec'd, this is a really cheap Volatility dump and also has a wide cone for DPS. Short-range, but that's the whole point of this build. You're in the fight, now Thresher and Particle Ejector it up! 3 Vol. per tick is amazing, add that it refreshes Shock Pulse cooldown, and it also debuffs armor. Your teammates DPS increases.

Great short range Volatility dump. Similar to Bio-shell in damage. This is a huge dump, but necessary given how much Volatility this build can build up and maintain. No cooldown. When spec'd, you can cast Thresher 3-4 times, depending on if you use a builder or dodge to gain volatility.

Deflecting attacks is great. Why? Because it lets you Feedback for three times the damage that Quick Burst does. Also, you generate Volatility with it. This is a very good ability as a tank with high deflect rating. Free, 6s cooldown, yep, amazing.

Volatility dump to produce more Feedback proc's. Does pitiful damage, but that's not the point of the ability. Blunder's are amazing combined with Feedback.

Amazing volatility builder, helps with deflecting crits, and boosts your crit. Combine that with your Exo-Suit, and you have two abilitie that generate a lot of Volatility for very little drawback.

This is an optional ability really. I find that Stuns can seriously harm you since you become defenseless... not something a tank wants.

You can fit just about anything else in the 8th slot.
You could spec into Unstable Anomaly (Tier 4 or 8) and have an instant cast ability as a tank that works very well as a debuff mechanism.

Personal Defense Unit... make yourself much harder to take down.

It's all up to folks how they want to play it out.
