I healed battlegrounds all the way from 6-50 on my Medic, and then decided to try out a DPS build with the level 50 PvP gear set. I've tried a few different variations, and I still think it needs some work, but right now I'm enjoying this build.
I would much rather heal as a Medic, and I wouldn't advise going DPS in battlegrounds unless your team is already saturated with healers. That being said, this build has some pretty decent burst potential, just don't expect to compete with the Spellslingers and other top DPS classes.
Tier 5 - You need Quantum Cascade tier 8 and Fissure/Collider Tier 4. After that you can tier one more spell up and Discharge is the only relevant upgrade to your DPS.
Tier 4 - Reduces tech resistance, deals some damage, and at Tier 4 restores us some actuators. Pretty essential for a DPS medic.
Tier 8 - Gamma Rays was way too slow and awkward for my taste in the PvP setting. I'd rather roll with Cascade and jump right into the fray. The DPS is much higher against large groups and it refills it's own actuators at Tier 8. My personal preference for primary DPS medic spell.
Tier 4 - Helps us burn enemies down after the initial attack. Tier 4 helps ensure that when we cast Collider we're getting max DPS out of it.
Base - I like running Atomize with the Weakness Into Strength AMP. Having a free instant-speed DPS spell is always nice, even if it is a triggered spell. This spell, along with it's respective AMP, is one that I feel may not actually be worth it, but so far I haven't found a better alternative.
Base - I don't like these probes nearly as much as I like Protection Probes in healing spec, but giving yourself and other teammates a 10% increase to DPS seems mandatory for any DPS build.
Base - This build almost feels like you're playing melee, and you will constantly be getting hit with CC. This mitigates that downtime and gives some survivability as well.
Base - PvP requires any class/spec to be highly mobile. This spell is a must.
Where AMPs are concerned I focused on maximizing DPS while giving myself a small amount of survivability with Null Zone and CC resilience. As I mentioned above Weakness Into Strength could possibly be dropped for Recycler. And if you're not as concerned about survivability you could drop CC resilience and/or Null Zone to free up some points for additional DPS AMPs.
I'm not that great with the DPS Medic in PvP at the moment, but so far this build has been treating me well. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
